Located off the north west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Langkawi is part of an archipelago of around 104 mostly uninhabited islands where hidden coves and deserted beaches were once the haunt of pirates. Languages
 


: Mandarin is the official language of China, although there are many regional dialects. The dialect of

  staffs usually speak the best English. Often, the more luxurious the hotel, the more fluent the staff.
  English speaking guides are available through local tour agencies.
